If you are planning Umrah from the United States, the first question is almost always the same: how much will it actually cost? The honest answer is that prices vary widely, but once you understand what you are paying for, it becomes easy to compare packages and spot real value.
Land package vs flights
Most reputable agencies, including us, quote Umrah as a land package. That covers your hotels in Makkah and Madinah, intercity and airport transfers, and visa processing. International flights from your US city are usually quoted separately, because airfare swings dramatically depending on your departure airport, the season, and how far ahead you book.
At Al Omar Travels, our land packages start from $390 per person (based on four sharing a room) for our Vital tier, rising through Premium and VIP as you move closer to the Haram and into higher hotel categories.
What drives the price up or down
Three factors move the cost more than anything else:
- Hotel proximity to the Haram. A room you can walk to in two minutes costs far more than one a shuttle ride away. This single factor often explains most of the gap between a budget and a premium package.
- Season. Ramadan, especially the last ten nights, and school holidays are the busiest and most expensive times. The cooler months outside Ramadan offer better value. (See our guide on the best time to perform Umrah.)
- Room sharing. Per-person rates assume a shared room. Two people sharing pay more each than four sharing, simply because the room cost is split fewer ways. On our packages page you can toggle between two, three, and four travellers to see exactly how this changes the price.
What should be included
A fair Umrah price should clearly include your hotels, all transfers, and visa support, with no hidden fees. Be cautious of quotes that look unusually low, they often leave out transfers, place you far from the Haram, or add charges later. Our guide to what’s included in an Umrah package explains exactly what to check.
Getting genuine value
Value is not the same as cheapest. The best-value Umrah is the one that puts your money where it matters to you, usually proximity to worship and reliable support on the ground, without paying for extras you won’t use. Travelling as a group of four, booking outside peak season, and being flexible on dates are the three easiest ways to lower your per-person cost honestly.
When you are ready, tell us your dates and departure city and we will send a transparent, all-in quote, so you can compare like for like, with nothing buried in the small print.
